Does the library have media with public performance rights?
Media Services has over 2,000 films, DVDs and other media with Public Performance Rights (PPR).
The "Notes" field of the full WRLC catalog record indicates whether the item includes public performance rights.
To generate a list of items with public performance rights, go to the Media Services page, in the "Media Search" box type (using the quotation marks to search as a phrase) "public performance rights" then change the pulldown menu from Title to Keyword and hit enter.
One should assume that media is protected by copyright. In order to legally host a public (outside of the classsroom) showing of a film or video (media), Public Performance Rights are required.
Generally, PPR are not required for classroom use. If you have questions, please consult the Media Services staff. 202.885.3250.
