How long will the library hold books that I requested through CLS/ILL? What if I can't make it in time?

Answer

Books delivered to Bender Library are available to be picked up from the Borrowing Desk on the library's main floor.  Consortium Loan Service (CLS) items are held for 10 days unless you let us know that you need more time, and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) items are held through the duration of the loan period provided by the lending library.

Please note: if you don't think you'll be able to pick up the book before the designated date, contact us to let us know how much more time you'll need: auill@american.edu or 202-885-3260. We're usually able to hold the item for a bit longer.
