How do I find books in languages other than English?

The library has books in many different languages.  Books, regardless of language, are shelved by subject. You can limit a search in the library catalog to a particular language.  From the library's homepage on the left under RESEARCH, click on SEARCH THE CATALOG.  On the right click on the MORE LIMITS button.  Under LANGUAGE scroll down to the language you wish to find, then click on SET LIMITS button.

On the search page, type the author or title that you wish to find. Remember that you must use the foreign language title. Regardless of language, you must omit the initial article in the title (A, The, Le, Los, Der, etc.)

If you don't have a specific author or title in mind, here is how you set a global search:

From the library's homepage under RESEARCH click on Search the Catalog.

Click on the blue Advanced Search button.

Click on the gray More Limits button  (It's on the lower right)

Under Language: scroll down and click on French, then click on Set Limits

In Search For: box, type French Fiction, change the pulldown to SUBJECT, click on Search

Click on the link below to view a series of screen shots (the "look" of some of the pages has changed, but not the function):
