Answer

Each free citation software program has its advantages and disadvantages.  One of our Subject Guides may be useful in helping you determine which to use: Citation Style Guide. Click on the "Which Software Should I use?" tab.

AU Librarians find Zotero the most intuitive.

The links below will take you to guides that will assist you with the major citation managment products.

You can also make an appointment with a librarian who can give you some tips on using EndNote and Zotero.  Email research@american.edu.
