All library printers are in the Print Center located on the lower level, between the Mud Box Café and the Technology Borrowing/Media Services desk.
Just find any open computer in the library, including one of the six “quick print” computers in the Print Center, upload your document, and print! Send your document to the all-inclusive “AU Printers” and click the “Print” command. Enter your user name in the pop-up window (this is the same user name you use to log in to the Portal). Then, go to any printer and swipe your AU ID or guest print card.
As of August 2015, all patrons must register AU IDs and print cards. This can be done at any touchscreen-enabled Pharos printer. You can select specific documents to print, or print all jobs by selecting "Print All." Before printing, check whether your document is the correct number of pages. Remember to log off when you are finished.
I like to print from my laptop.
You will need to install current printer-driver software on your laptop. If you have old printer-driver software, you must uninstall it before you download the new software. Instructions are here: https://blogs.library.american.edu/printing/. The Technology Support desk, open all year in the library on the lower level near the Popular Periodicals section, offers assistance in setting up printing on your laptop.
The accepted form of payment for printing in the library is EagleBucks. For the Fall and Spring semesters, AU students receive an allotment of funds added to their AU ID for printing. Unused print allotment funds expire at the end of the semester. There is no print allotment for the summer sessions.
Once the printing allotment is gone, regular EagleBucks can be used to print. To add more to an Eaglebucks account, go to EagleBucks.com; visit the Add Value machines in Bender Library, Anderson Hall, McDowell Hall, the Mary Graydon Center, the Anderson Computing Complex, or the Washington College of Law Library; or contact OneCard and Dining Services by at email@example.com or by phone at x2273.
Generic printing cards for non-AU guests can be obtained from a machine in the lobby of Mary Graydon Center. Visit the Info Desk or Print Center for assistance registering a printing card to a user name.
