The AU Library does not currently have audio books. Public libraries are the best free source for CDs, audio books, and popular eBooks.

The Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library is the closest public library to the AU Campus. Anyone who lives, works, or attends school in DC is eligible to obtain a card. Most public libraries in the DC metro area have reciprocal borrowing privileges among libraries. Check the website of the public library in your jurisdiction or call them to see what is available.

If you plan to obtain a DC card, check the DC Public Library website to determine specific requirements.  Be sure to take your AU ID & driver's license. A piece of postage stamped mail showing your name and local address may be required.  www.dclibrary.org/

Other ways to obtain audio books:

  • Project Gutenberg has some audio books, mostly classics, available to download for free.
  • A Google search may also link you to free audio book services, though, those services are typically for books that are in the public domain not necessarily for current books.
