The Consortium Loan Service (CLS) is a way for American University students, faculty, and staff to request books, journal articles, and DVDs from other libraries that belong to the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC). The WRLC is a network of universities in Washington, DC and the surrounding areas.

You can use AU Library Search to view items that are available across the WRLC network of libraries. After locating an item you are interested in using, you can place a request for it by clicking the "CLS Request" link under the availability section of the item's record. The item will be delivered in 2-3 days for you to pick up at the Circulation & Course Reserves Desk.

You can watch a short video tutorial on how to use AU Library Search.
