Please read our Visitor Policy and Procedures.

Visitors have access to our building and may use our collection on site.  They may request a daily login to use our computers and databases if they present a government-issued photo ID at the Circulation & Course Reserves Desk and are willing to register their personal information.

Students, faculty, and staff now may sponsor guest accounts for their visiting colleagues, friends, parents, and guests.  The Office of Information Technology’s wireless network access solution, known as eagle-guest, expedites the account request and sponsor approval processes.

Individuals who are neither affiliated with American University nor the Washington Research Library Consortium may borrow AU Library materials either through the Friends Borrowing Program or the Group Associate Borrowing Program.

AU participates in the OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program.

For more information about services and borrowing for visitors, see the Services for Visitors and Other Borrowing Options page below.
