If you know the exact citation, use the search box on the library's homepage to determine whether the library has the full text. Type the title of the article (not the title of the journal) and click on search.

To find out which database has the full text of a particular journal title, go to the library's homepage at www.american.edu/library and then click on FIND JOURNALS listed in the Research Assistance column. In the search box, type in the name of the journal (not the title of the article) and click on search.  For example, FOREIGN AFFAIRS is available in multiple databases. (Always look at the available dates to determine whether the article you need is included.)  The database will be set up to search for Foreign Affairs.

Take a look at the News and Newspapers Subject Guide to find more options for searching newspapers.
