First take a look at the RECAP Archive of PACER documents. The archive includes every free opinion in PACER. It is fully searchable, including millions of pages that were originally scanned PDFs. PACER documents in the RECAP Archive are regularly uploaded to the Internet Archive. Thousands of documents are liberated daily. Install the RECAP browser extension to automatically read RECAP documents in PACER and to have any PACER document you purchase added to RECAP.

If the RECAP Archive does not have the documents you need, the librarians at AU's Washington College of Law (WCL) Pence Law Library may be able to help. Contact the WCL librarians before going to the library. Send an email message to reference@wcl.american.edu or call (202) 274-4352 (leave a message if there is no answer). Information relating to a particular court case, such as the docket number or the case name, may be required.

The University Library has access to Nexis Uni and Westlaw Campus Research databases which have some information about court cases. Alumni and guests must come to the library to search these databases. Current students, faculty and staff may search from off campus. From the library's homepage select Databases and enter Nexis Uni or Westlaw.
