Notary Services

All notary services require a current, government issued photo ID & require an appointment

AU Central offers notary services at no charge for AU student-related documents. Notary services are available by appointment only.  Please email AUCentral@american.edu to schedule an appointment. Please be sure to bring a government issued photo ID.

For voting and elections notary needs, please contact Gwendolyn Reece at the AU Library: GReece@american.edu.  Gwendolyn may be able to assist with other notary services as well. Please be sure to bring a government issued photo ID.

The CapitalOne Bank Spring Valley Branch on Massachusetts Avenue usually has a notary. The service is free for CapitalOne customers. Call first  (202) 363-4196.

The UPS store in the tunnel often has a notary available. Call (202) 885-2030 to confirm. The standard fee is about $5.00. 

The main DC Public LIbrary, MLK 902 G Street NW (between Gallery Place & Metro Center subway stops) has a notary service on alternate Saturdays. For more information, click HERE.
