Be certain to check the Library of Congress's website - the materials you need may have been digitized. https://www.loc.gov/
Before you begin your research at the Library of Congress, you will need to obtain a Reader Registration Card that allows you access to their collections. Here is how you obtain the card: https://www.loc.gov/rr/readerregistration.html The librarians at the Reader Registration office can help you find the location of the materials you need.
You may also attend a Research Orientation session.
General information on Research Orientation is available here: http://www.loc.gov/rr/main/inforeas/orient.html
