Generally for AU faculty, OER fall within the portfolio of Center for Teaching, Research and Learning (CTRL) (https://edspace.american.edu/open/ ); however, the library has resources for students, staff, and faculty.

To search the library's catalog for OER, go to the library's homepage (https://www.american.edu/library/), enter search terms in the box, hit search.  On the left nav bar select "Open Access" and any additional filters such as "Books" and "Publication Date" range.

Below are links to sample searches.  Items that are available through AU have a green online link.

The library also subscribes to thousands of online books that can be searched through the library catalog. Unless specified, the AU community only has access to electronic books owned by AU as indicated by the green link.

We include titles from the Open Textbook Library in the library's catalog. If you prefer to browse available resources in the collection, visit the link in this catalog record.

Additional resources include OER Commons EDUCAUSE OER and SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition)

Please Ask-A-Librarian if the needed materials are not found.
