LOGGING IN THROUGH THE LIBRARY'S HOMEPAGE:

  • Click on the "Databases" tab on the library's homepage
  • Type Atlantic in the search box.
  • If prompted, enter your AU credentials (this verifies you are a paid subscriber through AU's account)
  • Once logged in, you will have full access to The Atlantic.

ALTERNATIVELY LOGGING IN THROUGH THE WEB

If you go directly to www.TheAtlantic.com (be certain to type THEAtlantic.com), there is an extra step to verify you are a paid AU subscriber.

  • Go to TheAtlantic.com
  • Click on "Sign In"
  • DO NOT enter your email at the first prompt! DO NOT attempt to log in with Google or Facebook. None of these can verify you as a paid subscriber.
  • Scroll down to the very bottom "Accessing a group subscription? Sign in through your institution"
  • Start typing Ameri... and select American University from the pull down. Use your AU credentials if prompted.
